We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll and Pensions Manager to lead the end-to-end payroll and pension operations for Toyota Material Handling UK. This role is responsible for ensuring employees and pensioners are paid accurately and on time while maintaining full compliance with UK payroll, pension, and statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the full payroll cycle for employees and pensioners.
- Ensuring accurate processing of salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and statutory payments.
- Managing starters, leavers, and contractual changes.
- Maintaining compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, HMRC regulations, and pension auto-enrolment requirements.
- Leading payroll process improvements, system developments, and implementation projects.
- Acting as the key point of contact for payroll-related queries across the business.
- Supporting audits and liaising with HMRC, pension providers, and external stakeholders.
- Leading, developing, and supporting a high-performing payroll team through coaching, performance management, and continuous development.
Your Profile
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Specialist within a UK environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
- Experience managing payroll systems and processing large volumes of payroll data.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- CIPP qualification (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals).
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
You will be a confident leader with excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships across HR, Finance, and the wider business. You will combine technical payroll expertise with a continuous improvement mindset, ensuring payroll services are delivered accurately, efficiently, and compliantly.
