The role in a nutshell: Providing a high quality and professional global mobility service to expatriates across the Europe & Africa Region (EAR).
A bit about the ‘Department’: The EAR People & Culture team supports the business through executive talent management, regional and global initiatives and providing advice, support and governance to TFS and KINTO markets. The department consists of 4 areas HR, People and Development, TWOW Culture and Communications
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead end-to-end international assignment lifecycle management
- Partner with business leaders, and HR Managers to advise on global mobility solutions that align with talent and business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with local labour laws, tax regulations, and internal controls across jurisdictions.
- Hold assignment briefings with assignees, local HR representatives and business leaders.
- Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders and across TFS and Toyota globally to ensure global mobility processes are followed.
- Management of relationships with external suppliers, tax, immigration, relocation agencies to ensure services are being delivered effectively.
- Act as SME to the business on global mobility policies and practises to enable the business to meet its people and operational needs.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in mobility practices, ensuring alignment with employee experience and Company strategy.
- Propose and implement new policies.
- Prepare assignment options and cost projections.
- Manage expat payroll and calculation of allowances including cost of living reports and per diem calculations.
- Proactively manage assignment extensions and returning assignees to EAR to ensure a smooth repatriation.
- Monitor global mobility trends and maintain expertise in international assignment policies, compliance, and employee experience design.
- Lead on short-medium term projects in line with department strategy.
- Resolve issues early on to prevent escalations

- Assist with ad-hoc projects as delegated by the Senior HR Manager – EAR.
- Manage and propose solutions to complex issues
- Ad hoc travel within the Europe and Africa Region.
- Suggest improvements to the department’s processes and procedures (where appropriate), encouraging a work culture of continuous improvement.
Key Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in international and commuter assignments including visas, payroll, compensation, relocation and insurances across Europe
- Good understanding of expatriate tax and social security principles
- Excellent stakeholder management and a customer first approach
- Experience working across different locations and cultures, with the ability to speak other languages being beneficial.
- Proficiencies in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Policy creation and development.
- Ability to deal with challenging conversations with business contacts and assignees.
