We are currently growing our UK branch by establishing design engineering capabilities. Therefore, we are seeking Mechanical and Composite Design Engineers (m/f/d) with a focus on our various motorsport projects, such as WEC LMH, GT3, GT4 and WRC.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design and documentation of various components and assemblies. Your tasks will include calculations, 2D layouts, 3D design, and the development of sub-assemblies. You may also be involved in defining rig test requirements. A key part of the role is ensuring the timely delivery of projects within agreed cost limits, along with complete documentation.
Your Tasks:
- Design of gearbox, drivetrain or suspension components
- Chassis design including roll cage, subframes, seat and safety equipment, dashboard, steering wheel, and pedal box
- Integration design across systems such as engine cooling, fuel, hydraulics, pneumatics, HV systems (including batteries), and braking systems
- Design of structural and non-structural composite components and assemblies (specifications, drawings, ply books as well as tooling, jigs, and fixtures for production)
- Support for automotive engineering prototype projects
We welcome both specialists, who want to dedicate themselves to one of the aforementioned functional domains, and generalists, who want to maintain an overview of all areas of vehicle design.
Your Profile:
- Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong design skills and solid knowledge of modern technologies and materials
- Good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Proven experience in motorsport component layout and high-performance design (e.g. F1, LMH/LMDh, BTCC, GT3, GT4, Rally)
- Proficiency in CAD/CAE software (CATIA V5 preferred), FEM analysis, classical calculation methods
- Familiarity with data management systems (e.g. Teamcenter) and MS Office
- “Racing mindset” – i.e. enthusiasm for motorsport, flexibility and resilience, willingness to go the extra mile to win on track
- Team-oriented mindset with a responsible, analytical, and creative working style
- Willingness to travel when required
