As an experienced Tyre Modelling Engineer (m/f/d), you will have strong knowledge of tyre models and tyre modelling concepts with a bias towards real-time capability. This role will hold a key position within the Vehicle Performance Department where the candidate will support race and road car programmes giving attention to detail on tyre and tyre model aspects including overall car performance, handling and model correlation. The role will require cross-functional collaboration with other engineers from a variety of disciplines with the common goal of improving car performance.

Your Tasks:
- Make proposals to maximise tyre performance based on simulation and data-driven approaches
- Tyre model parameterisation on a variety of empirical and semi-empirical tyre models
- Support tool development to automate tasks such as parameter fitting to tyre data
- Be technical advisor for topics concerning tyres and tyre performance
- Full car and tyre model correlation
- Support tyre testing including trackside and rig testing
- Reporting of analytic investigations with a systematic and quantitative approach
- Support R&D projects including planning, analysis and reporting
- Support other vehicle dynamics activities including suspension kinematics and compliance, aerodynamics, brakes and ride
The successful candidate will:
- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field. A master’s or Ph.D. may be an advantage.
- Show proven expertise in simulation and tyre model development
- Have an advanced understanding of tyre modelling and factors that influence tyre performance
- Be highly proficient with scripting languages such as MATLAB and Python
- Show knowledge of car sensors required for understanding tyre performance and associated operating conditions
- Bring personal attributes like: Methodical and analytical approach to problem solving, Excellent verbal communication and written technical documentation, Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, Flexible attitude in a dynamic and challenging work environment, Fluency in written and spoken English
