Description
Toyota Financial Services UK is seeking a Tax & Finance Projects Accountant to join our Finance team, offering a fantastic opportunity to develop specialist tax expertise while contributing to a range of business-critical projects.
This role would suit an individual who already has experience in tax and is looking to broaden their knowledge within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Working closely with the Tax Manager, you'll gain exposure to a wide variety of tax matters and play an important role in ensuring compliance across several UK Toyota subsidiaries.
About the ‘Department’
Financial Accounting are responsible for keeping an accurate record of TFSUK’s total financial accounts, including our assets, equity, expenses and income revenue.
Within the team there are a number of different functions, such as financial reporting, Accounts Payable, payroll and tax.
What you’ll be doing
- To support the Tax Manager on matters involving taxation for certain UK subsidiaries.
- Production of IFRS Tax Accounts covering both current and deferred Corporation Tax for the financial statements.
- Preparation of Corporation Tax numbers for half-yearly/yearly reporting in CONETS to Japan.
- Preparation using Alphatax and submission of yearly Corporation Tax Return to HMRC.
- Liaison with external advisors to ensure compliance with increased international tax burdens, such as the BEPs initiative.
- Assist the Tax Manager in ensuring transfer pricing compliance.
- Monitor any Group Relief claims or surrenders and manage payment for losses from/to other entities in respect of these.
- Production of quarterly VAT Returns to ensure VAT compliance.
- Assist the Tax Manager in the preparation and submission of the PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) Claims and Incentive Scheme Reporting where necessary and ensuring any new areas are captured so that we maintain compliance in this area.
- Maintain the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) Compliance process.
- Ensure tax procedures are maintained.
- Setting up of tax processes for new entities with support from the Tax Manager

Requirements
Key Experience & Skills
- Previous knowledge and understanding of VAT and preparing VAT returns.
- Experience of partial exemption.
- Working knowledge of Corporation Tax.
- Previous experience of working in corporate and deferred tax accounting.
- Experience of setting up tax affairs of acquisitions would be desirable.
- Experience of working in a tax compliance or advisory role within a commercial environment, HMRC or in practice.
- Proficiencies in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel at intermediate/advanced level.
- Experience of using Alphatax and advantage
