We are looking for our next Product Owner who will be responsible for one of our connected mobility products at Toyota Connected Europe. Depending on your experience and interests, you will either look after established products, continue to build out the roadmap, ensuring reliability and compliance, and ensuring value to our customers; or you will take new, innovative ideas and shape them into products that can be built and launched. Either way, you’ll work on real products used by real customers.
With a strong sense of ownership, you will be responsible for setting the direction of the product, challenging how it could and should be improved, and building the case for investment. You will operate across the full lifecycle, whether that is a new product or new features on an established one, from ideation and initial scoping, through go-to-market, and then into the operational phase.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own a backlog, turning customer and business needs into clear epics and user stories with testable acceptance criteria that engineering teams can estimate and deliver.
- Work with a wide range of stakeholders including engineering, data science, commercial, as well as other Toyota entities and customers to agree priorities, outcomes and trade-offs.
- Understand the connected data that underpins your product: where it comes from, how it flows through our platform, its quality and limitations, where it could be used to further enhance products, legal and governance requirements and then use this information to make sound product decisions.
- Run regular reviews so that cross-functionally there is a shared understanding of what is being built and why.
Benefits:
- Car scheme - Our partnership with TGB means you can drive a brand-new Toyota or Lexus. Sign up for a 12-month lease, and we’ll do the rest. No deposit, no insurance payment—just grab the keys and go!
- 30-days holidays - Helping you find the ideal work-life balance, we offer our employees 30 days holiday, with an option to purchase an additional 5.
- Free lunch - Yes, there is such a thing. Working with various partners, we offer all employees a choice of healthy (or not) lunch options for free every day when they come to the office.
- Pension contribution - We contribute the equivalent of 10% of your gross basic salary to our group personal pension plan every month. You can also top this up with Salary Sacrifice contributions, and we’ll add any saved National Insurance contributions.
- Medical insurance - If private medical care is vital to you, we offer a comprehensive scheme with access to online medical support 24/7. We also cover partners and children (we pay the premium, you pay the tax).
- Income protection - If you cannot work due to serious illness or injury, this offers financial and rehabilitation support to help you return when the time is right.
Qualifications:
- Awareness of data privacy and regulation including GDPR, EU data act, and privacy by design.
- Excellent organisational skills, keeping backlog, dependencies and decisions in good order.
- Experience as a Product Owner in a similar role, working with engineering teams in an agile environment.
- Clear written communication, with solid experience writing unambiguous requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management, with the confidence to manage competing priorities and say no when required.
- Practical experience applying data privacy and regulation including GDPR, EU data act, and privacy by design.
- Experience in connected data, IoT, mobility or B2B data products.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms, APIs, and event-driven data integrations.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, Lucid and similar tools.
