You will be employed in an ARRS Healthcare Support Worker role by Township 2 PCN Limited primarily based at the Richmond Medical Centre, 465 Richmond Road, Sheffield. The practice boundary includes a mixed demographic which provides opportunity to work with patients from all different backgrounds. The staff team includes a wide skill mix and we provide a supportive environment with a focus on staff wellbeing. We are looking for a caring, motivated and skilled HCA to join our team.

Job Responsibilities

  • The HCA supports the PCN personal care team in delivering practice housebound and care home services and works within the PCN and practice to support nursing and administrative teams in the delivery of patient care.
  • This role involves working as part of the practice multi‑disciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the entitled patient population.
  • Support the PCN team in delivering care to patients within the practice’s patient list in clinics, including:
    • New patient health checks / NHS health checks / Weight Management.
    • ECG recording.
    • Give flu vaccines / immunisations within the scope of established protocols.
    • Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses.
    • Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well‑being.
    • Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual.
    • Helping to raise awareness of health and well‑being and how it can be promoted.
    • Observing infection control procedures and protocols at all times to protect patients, colleagues and themselves.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A recognised care qualification: NVQ, QCF, Health and Social Care Apprenticeship, BTEC, Care Certificate or Access to Healthcare.
  • Experience using SystmOne.
  • Qualified in Phlebotomy.
  • Experience in a Primary Care environment.
