Planning Director - Manchester

Salary: Β£79,000-Β£107,000 plus benefits | Working: Hybrid / office based Continued project wins have created an opening for a Planning Director within a well-regarded regional planning practice known for practical advice, strong local relationships and a varied private-sector client base in Manchester.

The business is deliberately hands-on, with senior people remaining closely involved in both projects and client relationships.

The opportunity The office has a healthy pipeline involving small and medium-sized residential schemes, local plan promotion, rural development and planning appeals.

The emphasis is on thoughtful advice and well-managed projects rather than simply processing volume.

What you will be doing This is a leadership appointment with real influence over the growth and direction of the planning offer.

You will originate and lead work, develop senior client relationships and create opportunities for the wider team.

The successful person will have the freedom to shape a sector, client group or regional market, supported by an established platform and a strong pipeline of existing instructions.

Preparing or overseeing planning appraisals, applications and supporting statements Mentoring junior planners and reviewing technical work Coordinating architects, transport, heritage, landscape and environmental specialists Managing project fees, deadlines and client expectations Advising clients on strategy, risk, programme and prospects of success Your background This opportunity is aimed at an established planning leader or a senior Associate Director ready to step up.

You should bring strong market credibility, commercial judgement and a record of winning or expanding work.

MRTPI status and substantial major-project experience are expected.
