We’ve brought together a world-class team from a wide range of industries. As we continue to expand, we need brilliant people (like you!) to help bring the Townhouse brand to life across the world.

Here at Townhouse, we live by our three core values:

  • Passionate in everything we do
  • Nice people

Townhouse was born out of the idea that ‘details matter’ – our customers strive for perfection in the details, and so do we. Our passion fuels our work and drives constant innovation. Finally, we pride ourselves on finding nice, kindhearted people to join our mission to revolutionise the industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Building Services Engineer to join our growing Compliance & Facilities team and help maintain our portfolio of premium salons across the UK.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, delivering reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and supporting projects that improve the reliability and compliance of our estate. As we continue to build our in-house engineering capability, this role offers the opportunity to develop additional technical skills. Alongside day-to-day maintenance, you’ll receive training in areas including Emergency Lighting servicing, Fire Alarm servicing and Fire Door inspections.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out reactive maintenance across our UK salon portfolio, independently diagnosing faults and completing repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) using our CAFM system (MaintainX), keeping accurate records and ensuring compliance.
  • Complete day-to-day general maintenance including toilets, taps, leaks, blockages, doors, locks, silicone, minor carpentry, decorating and fixtures and fittings.
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing and mechanical building services, including water heaters, pumps, pipework, waste systems and associated equipment.
  • Carry out electrical fault finding and minor repairs within your competency, including lighting, sockets, fused spurs, isolation switches and fixed equipment.
  • Support HVAC maintenance through routine inspections, first-line fault diagnosis and specialist contractor coordination.
  • Support salon refurbishments, equipment installations and improvement projects, while identifying recurring issues and recommending longer-term solutions.
  • Assist with statutory compliance activities, including Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm and Fire Door inspections following training, while maintaining safe working practices and providing a professional, responsive service to salon teams.

ABOUT YOU

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled, Building Services or Maintenance Engineer.
  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent technical experience, with good general electrical knowledge.
  • Strong plumbing and mechanical maintenance knowledge, including water heaters, toilets, pipework, pumps and waste systems.
  • Experience in reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM), working independently across multiple commercial sites.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, able to independently diagnose and repair issues within competency and recognise when specialist support is required.
  • Experience using CAFM/FM systems such as MaintainX.
  • Proactive, organised and customer-focused, with good communication skills and a willingness to travel nationally and occasionally work outside trading hours.

Desirable

  • Relevant electrical qualification, with strong electrical fault-finding and minor repair experience.
  • G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification.
  • HVAC maintenance and fault-finding experience.
  • Fire Alarm, Emergency Lighting or Fire Door inspection experience.
  • IOSH Working Safely and/or Asbestos Awareness certification.
  • Keen to learn new skills and work across a varied portfolio of sites.

LOCATION

This is a full-time, permanent role based from our Support Centre hub in London, with travel required across our UK salon portfolio.

You’ll be expected to travel regularly between sites, with travel expenses covered. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to complete maintenance activities outside of salon trading hours.
