Townends Accountants LLP, a long‑established Yorkshire firm with offices in Goole and York, is looking for an Account & Audit Senior / Semi Senior to join our corporate department in Goole.
Job Overview
You will deliver high‑quality accounts, audit and tax compliance assignments for clients ranging from sole traders to companies with turnovers up to £120 million. The role is part‑time, with opportunities for progression and flexible working.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with FRS 102.
- Complete audit, accounts and tax (personal & corporation) assignments under tight deadlines.
- Use mainstream accounting packages such as Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
- Supervise, review and mentor junior staff and internal controls.
- Engage with clients, attend meetings and manage ad‑hoc projects to deliver proactive service.
- Participate in networking events to support business development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Good academic history and professional accounting qualification.
- Experience in audit, accounts and tax within an accounting practice.
- Strong knowledge of FRS 102 and accounting standards.
- Proficient in Sage, Xero, QuickBooks and other cloud accounting systems.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
- Experience supervising and reviewing junior staff.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
