Overhead Crane Engineer £35,000 – £60,000 per annum Newcastle Full Time, Permanent Are you an Overhead Crane Engineer looking for a new role in Newcastle We\’re a family run lifting equipment engineering company with branches across the North of England. We\’re looking for a Lifting Equipment Engineer to join our team as part of our exciting growth plans. Reporting into the Branch Manager, the Engineer will be responsible for carrying out all duties expected from an Overhead Crane Engineer: Inspection and maintenance of cranes, jibs to LOLER guidelines. Breakdown investigation (electrical and mechanical) and repair of all equipment. Installation of new equipment. Load test of equipment where required. Reporting on success / failure of the work carried out (using tablet / laptop). Communicate work carried out with client. Gather information for quote / repair from jobs. Other lifting equipment duties – MPI, wire socketing, fitting crane wires etc (training provided where necessary). We put people at the forefront of what we do, so the personality of the successful candidate is as important as the technical ability. We are looking for someone who has the ability to communicate effectively, can remain calm under pressure and has a strong desire to succeed. This is a role which requires flexibility as there are extensive overtime opportunities to service the client’s needs. There is a call out rota on a 4-weekly basis. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service, so the successful candidate must be willing to go the extra mile to help us achieve this. The candidate should have extensive experience working with overhead cranes and should hold an electrical qualification. Valid forklift, MEWP licences are desirable, but training can be provided. In exchange, we offer strong rates of pay, up to £60,000, use of the van, an iPad, a development path for our high achievers and a staff profit share at year end.
