EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR II – Primary Montessori Teacher
The Town of Windsor is looking for a dynamic, energetic Montessori Primary Teacher to fill a full-time position. The successful candidate will lead a Primary Montessori environment for children ages 3 to 6 years; work with assistants, interns, and contractual employees; implement and plan a Montessori curriculum, conduct daily observations, complete report cards, conduct parent teacher conferences, order materials and supplies as needed; prepare daily reports to families; attend monthly staff meetings; participate in seminars and training sessions as assigned; and, maintain timely and accurate work records.
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field with1 year experience; or, any combination of education and/or experience required
- Must have good knowledge of principles and practices of early childhood education and development
- AMS Montessori Certification or completion of an accredited Montessori training program preferred. Candidates who have completed AMS training but need the practicum experience will be considered
- Calm, confident, and collaborative presence in the classroom together with strong communication, flexibility, observation, and organizational skills
- Successful completion of the Town of Windsor’s pre-employment background and drug screen – including testing for marijuana
Compensation and Schedule:
- Annual salary range is $40,000 to $45,000 depending on experience and qualifications
- Town employees enjoy a comprehensive benefit package, including but not limited to, health, dental, vision and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, short- and long-term disability, and a defined contribution retirement plan
- The hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday, 12-month calendar year
