The Town of Windsor is looking for a dynamic, energetic Montessori Toddler Teacher Assistant to fill a full-time position. The successful candidate will assist with the planning and implementation of a Toddler Program for children ages 24 to 36 months. Assist in creating and maintaining a well-organized and child-centered classroom. Help monitor and maintain classroom children’s supplies and classroom materials. Assist the teacher in observing and documenting each child’s daily activities and developmental milestones. Act in the lead role during the teacher\’s absence. Attend monthly staff meetings; participate in seminars and training sessions as assigned; and, maintain timely and accurate work records.
- Must have good knowledge of principles and practices of early childhood education and development
- Candidate should hold a current CDA or
- Completion of 12 ECE credits is required within the first year of employment
- Associates degree in education, early childhood development or related field with 3 years of experience; or, any combination of education and/or experience required
- AMS Montessori Certification or completion of an accredited Montessori training program preferred. Candidates who have completed AMS training but need the practicum experience will be considered.
- Successful completion of the Town of Windsor’s pre-employment background and drug screen – including testing for marijuana
The starting salary is $17.00-$19.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. The hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, 52 weeks a year.
