Summary
The Town of Shrewsbury, a full service local government driven by high performance and creativity, seeks a collaborative and passionate individual to join the Recreation team as Recreation Instructors and Program Leaders. The Recreation Department is looking for qualified instructors to lead a variety of leisure and recreation based activities in the Town of Shrewsbury. Positions include but are not limited to:
- Yoga, Zumba, HIIT, and other fitness class instructors
- Tennis, Basketball, Pickleball, Volleyball, and other sports instructors/coaches for youth and adults.
- Art Instructors able to offer a variety of mediums (watercolor, sewing, drawing, pottery, etc)
- Adaptive and Inclusive program instructors for activities including sports, social outings, buddy programs, and more for participants with disabilities.
- Preschool/Toddler classes and activities, including sports, crafts, social groups, etc.
- Teen Trip leaders
Class Dates
All days of the week and time frames are available, depending upon the program/class, location and season. Indicate availability on application.
Experience Required
Qualified Applicants will hold appropriate certifications or significant experience in their interest area as well as be CPR and AED certified.
Additional Requirements
Provide a positive and energetic attitude towards all participants, regardless of age, ethnicity, background, or ability. Instructor shall be approachable and keep safety in mind. Able to instruct all levels of skills and abilities and adjust accordingly, working with the Recreation Department to provide appropriate personalized supports and modifications as needed.. Must submit a CORI background check, professional references, and adhere to employee standards.
