The Town of Shrewsbury is seeking a compassionate and safety-conscious individual to join the Council on Aging as a part-time Van Driver (up to 18 hours/week). Van Drivers are vital members of our team, providing safe and reliable transportation to senior residents and individuals with disabilities. In this role, you will play an important part in helping our seniors maintain their independence by ensuring they get to medical appointments, errands, community activities, and special events in a timely and secure manner.

Weekly Hours: up to 18 Hours/Week

Location: Council on Aging & Field

Bargaining Unit: Non-Union

Supervisor: Council on Aging Director

Hiring Range: $19 - $23 / Hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate paratransit vans to transport seniors and other clients to and from their destinations
  • Prioritize passenger safety and comfort
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards all clients, fostering a welcoming environment

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, drug and alcohol screening, and CORI check
  • CPR and First Aid Certification preferred
  • Previous experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is a plus
