Shrewsbury is home to approximately 9,500 residents over the age of sixty, and the Council on Aging plays a central role in supporting this important and growing population through advocacy, engagement, and responsive services.

What You’ll Do
- Support strategic planning, policy development, and community needs assessments.
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate staff and volunteers to foster a high-performing and welcoming environment.
- Lead programming and engagement initiatives for older adults and their families, including partnerships with local organizations.
- Represent Shrewsbury in state and regional coalitions, networks, and events.
- Promote services through public outreach, media relations, and communication tools like newsletters and social media.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and facility management.
- Contribute to budget development, reporting, and program evaluation.
- Provide direct support services, information, and advocacy for older residents and caregivers.
Who You Are
- A bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Services, Gerontology, or a related field with 1–3 years of relevant experience, including supervisory and program management responsibilities, or any combination of education and experience.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Comfort with digital tools including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and website management platforms.
- A deep commitment to public service and the ability to engage with older adults and their families with empathy and professionalism.
