Lifeguard Parks and Recreation Department Part-Time, Saturday & Sundays, up to 8 hours per week.
Starting Rate $19.00 / hour. Position Range $19.00- $20.75 / hour.
Required Qualifications & Overview
We're looking for a certified lifeguard to perform all standard duties associated with lifeguarding at the pool. In this role you will assist with activities planned, maintenance of facilities, and daily maintenance of the program area. You will help to identify and address potential safety hazards and supervise patrons to maintain a safe environment. You may instruct small groups or individuals in swimming skills.
The ideal candidate will be able to accept direction, maintain order & respect among program participants, and build positive relationships with both children and program staff. Must have a strong swimming ability, knowledge of rules & regulations pertaining to pool safety, and an understanding of standard lifeguard practices with the ability to perform various prevention and rescue techniques. Certification as a Lifeguard by American Red Cross or comparable standards is required.
