The Office Assistant II role provides comprehensive, high-level administrative support to the Development, Planning, & Public Works Department. Operating either independently or as part of a collaborative team, the assistant will streamline daily department operations by managing complex administrative tasks, department projects and initiatives, and handling essential documentation. As a primary point of contact, the assistant will deliver exceptional customer service by providing accurate department information and referrals to the public.

Required Qualifications

  • The skills and knowledge required for this role are generally acquired through a high school diploma (or equivalent) paired with at least four (4) years of progressive administrative or general office experience.
  • Prior municipal experience within a planning or public works department is highly preferred.
  • The ideal candidate combines exceptional communication and customer service skills with advanced digital proficiency in modern productivity suites, including data entry, spreadsheet creation, and database navigation.
  • To thrive in this dynamic, fast-paced environment, you must be a highly organized, detail-oriented problem solver capable of independently composing professional correspondence, compiling statistical reports, and managing competing priorities to meet strict deadlines.
