The Town of Dartmouth is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Water and Sewer Maintenance Craftsman with the Department of Public Works. This position performs skilled manual and technical work related to the construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of the Town's water and sewer systems.
Duties include:
- Installing and repairing water and sewer mains, hydrants, valves, meters, manholes, and related infrastructure;
- Responding to emergencies and service complaints;
- Operating hand and power tools, vehicles, and equipment;
- Inspecting contracted construction work;
- Maintaining records, inventory, buildings, grounds, and equipment;
- Assisting with pumping stations and other public works activities as needed.
Qualifications: High school graduation; two years of experience in municipal water system operations, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
