Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Service & Maintenance Engineer role based in Chesham. The engineer will install, service, and maintain security systems such as intruder alarms, CCTV, fire alarms, access control, nurse call systems, and external lighting at customer premises. Daily work includes carrying out routine and reactive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing faults, performing preventive checks, and ensuring systems meet relevant standards and company procedures. The role also involves completing accurate documentation, updating service records, and communicating clearly with customers to explain work carried out and any follow-up actions. The engineer will collaborate with the wider team, follow health and safety requirements, and participate in an out-of-hours rota where required.
- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance, Repair, and Installation of Security Systems
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance and Electrical Maintenance, including fault-finding and component-level troubleshooting.
- Previous hands-on experience with intruder alarms, CCTV, fire alarms, access control, and related security systems is highly desirable.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in electrical/electronic engineering or a closely related field (or equivalent experience).
- Full, clean driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites in the region.
- Strong customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eligibility to meet security screening requirements in line with BS7858 and to comply with company and regulatory standards.
