We have an exciting opportunity for a Property Officer to join our Contracts & Compliance team and play a key role in supporting our response to the increasing volume of damp and mould cases, as well as new housing hazards that fall within the scope of Awaab's Law. This is an important position that helps ensure our residents live in safe, healthy homes while supporting compliance with evolving legislation.

Working closely with colleagues across the business, you will provide a proactive and customer-focused service, helping to monitor completed works, coordinate inspections, support complaint handling, and contribute to continuous service improvement.

As a Property Officer, you’ll undertake regular post-inspections of completed damp, mould and other hazard-related works to ensure our residents’ homes are free from defects and compliant with legislative requirements. You’ll arrange and manage inspection appointments, maintain accurate records and reports, and identify any further actions required to resolve outstanding issues. You’ll act as a first point of contact for residents and colleagues regarding Awaab’s Law-related enquiries, ensuring excellent customer service and timely communication through phone calls, emails and written correspondence. You’ll also work closely with internal repairs teams, contractors and surveyors to help resolve issues efficiently, support complaint handling, assist with audits and data reporting, and contribute to ongoing service improvements and digital ways of working.

We’re looking for a highly organised and customer-focused individual with excellent communication and administrative skills. You’ll have experience managing a varied workload, coordinating appointments, maintaining accurate records and working to deadlines. The ability to build positive relationships with residents, colleagues and contractors is essential, alongside a proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering excellent customer service. You’ll be confident using IT systems, producing clear reports and handling sensitive enquiries professionally. Experience of working within housing, property services, repairs, compliance or a customer service environment would be advantageous, together with an understanding of damp and mould issues, property maintenance, complaints handling, or housing-related legislation. Most importantly, you’ll share our commitment to keeping residents safe and delivering high-quality services.

When you join Town & Country Housing, you’re joining a team guided by our values: Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together. We believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included and empowered.

What we offer:

  • Contributory pension scheme up to 10% matched contributions
  • Life assurance of 4x annual salary (Terms and Conditions apply)
  • 30 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays
  • Two volunteer days per year
  • 24/7 digital GP service and counselling helpline (including face-to-face sessions)
  • Free annual eye test voucher and contribution towards glasses
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, and shared parental leave provision
  • Flexible benefits scheme, including family friendly benefits and access to a discount portal
  • Annual flu vaccinations

This is a hybrid role where we expect all staff to come into their base office 2 days a week (every day during induction which could be up to 3 months).

As a Disability Confident Committed employer, we are committed to ensuring our recruitment process is accessible to everyone. As users of the disability confident scheme, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for our vacancies.
