We are reaching an exciting time in our development and have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Worker to join our team at Veronica House Tipton DY4. You will be responsible for carrying out day to day maintenance on the nursing care home adhering to Health & Safety at all times, using your initiative to identify problems and report to the Registered Manager, to ensure that the home is maintained in a safe and functional order.

We are looking for an individual with:

  • A proven ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a team;
  • On Call required;
  • Commitment to a service, which provides support to vulnerable individuals, and which is respectful and according to the individuals' wishes;
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, including an ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, Managers and other persons with a legitimate interest in the service;
  • Ability to work within a regional maintenance team and support other homes within the region if required;
  • The ability to carry out tasks correctly and safely;
  • An understanding of when to request additional skilled help;
  • A flexible and innovative approach to working;
  • The ability to manage their time effectively, prioritising the work needed;
  • A positive, patient and flexible attitude along with a passion for engaging with working age or older adults with dementia and associated conditions;
  • Experience of working in a care home environment is desirable;
  • Own transport is essential.
