Our Client is a leading Civil Engineering and Construction Company, delivering high quality projects across the UK. With an office in the North East, they operate in all aspects of Construction including highways and Water Infrastructure through to Commercial and Residential projects.
Due to an exciting Growth and Development Framework and a new highways realignment scheme starting imminently, they have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer to join their team based out of Stockton on Tees and covering sites in the local area. The successful candidate will play a key role within the team through programme management, subcontractor management and client engagement. There will be the opportunity to continue to develop professionally with the support of the Framework team.
The typical scope of works and experience required includes:
- Drainage
- Ducting
- Highway (footway and carriageway) construction
- Streetlighting
- Signage
- Landscaping packages
Experience in these areas is essential in order to hit the ground running in terms of understanding the quality aspects (specification etc). Experience in working in the water sector is also essential.
The successful candidates will be responsible for day-to-day site activities, controlling subcontractors and ensuring that material supplies are available. Key responsibilities include:
- Meeting deadlines
- Maintaining high quality standards
- Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the site workforce is a top priority
The successful applicant must have excellent management skills, with a thorough knowledge of both traditional and timber frame construction combined with a comprehensive health and safety understanding. Daily briefings will be conducted with clients' staff on site, and paperwork will need to be completed for both clients and the main contractor.
You will be required to liaise with the main contractor, represent our client, and order materials via our client's office (e.g. concrete slots, aggregates) while organising work for the staff on site.
We are ideally looking for someone with Main Contractor experience and experience in Groundworks, Civils and Foundations. Other duties will include:
- Carrying out Daily Briefings with our men and participating with the client
- Completing paperwork using paper-based and digital means, including client-specific paperwork where required
- Ordering materials via our client's office
- Organising work for our client's staff and supervising any subcontractors appointed by our client
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an online induction for the main contractor prior to commencing on site. You must have a CSCS Card, SMSTS, First Aid, and Full PPE.
