Our Client is a leading Civil Engineering and Construction Company, delivering high quality projects across the UK. With an office in the North East, they operate in all aspects of Construction including highways and Water Infrastructure through to Commercial and Residential projects.

Due to an exciting Growth and Development Framework and a new highways realignment scheme starting imminently, they have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer to join their team based out of Stockton on Tees and covering sites in the local area.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a key role within the team through programme management, subcontractor management and client engagement. The typical scope of works and experience required is drainage, ducting, highway (footway and carriageway) construction, streetlighting, signage, signlas and landscaping packages. Experience in these areas is essential to hit the ground running in terms of understanding the quality aspects (specification etc). Experience in working in the water sector is also essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day site activities, controlling subcontractors and ensuring material supplies are available.
  • Meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality standards while prioritising health, safety and welfare of the site workforce.
  • Carry out daily briefings with site staff and client personnel, and complete required paperwork for both the client and the main contractor.
  • Represent the client at site meetings, order materials via the client’s office (e.g. concrete slots, aggregates) and organise work for client staff.
  • Supervise any subcontractors appointed by the client.

Pre‑Onboarding

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an online induction for the main contractor prior to commencing on site.
