Our Client is a leading Civil Engineering and Construction Company, delivering high quality projects across the UK. With an office in the North East, they operate in all aspects of construction including highways, water infrastructure, commercial and residential projects. Due to an exciting growth and development framework and a new highways realignment scheme starting imminently, we have a fantastic new opportunity for an experienced Site Engineer to join the team based in Stockton on Tees and cover sites in the local area. The successful candidate will play a key role within the team through programme management, subcontractor management and client engagement.
Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day site activities, controlling subcontractors and ensuring material supplies.
- Conduct and take part in daily briefings with client staff and the main contractor.
- Prepare and complete necessary paperwork for clients and the main contractor.
- Order materials via the client’s office (e.g., concrete slots, aggregates).
- Organise work for client staff and supervise any subcontractors appointed by the client.
- Support the development of professional skills through the Framework team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in drainage, ducting, highway construction (footway and carriageway), street lighting, signage, signal lighting and landscaping packages.
- Experience in the water sector and knowledge of specifications and quality aspects.
- Main contractor experience as well as groundworks, civils and foundations.
- Proficiency in traditional and timber frame construction.
- Comprehensive health and safety understanding.
- CSCS Card, SMSTS, First Aid and Full PPE.
