In this role, you will:
- Deliver safe, engaging, and high-quality swimming lessons to participants of all ages and abilities including parent and baby classes.
- Assess swimmers' progress and maintain accurate records in line with the Swim England Learn to Swim framework.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants by adhering to safeguarding, health and safety, and pool operating procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers, and partner organisations to promote swimming participation and progression within the community.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification or STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming (essential).
- Experience of planning and delivering swimming lessons for children, young people and adults in a structured aquatic environment.
- Knowledge of swimming teaching standards, water safety, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety legislation relevant to swimming pools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate learners and build positive relationships with participants, parents, and colleagues.
- The ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends where required.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Swim England Parent and Child Qualification or STA Parent and Baby Swimming Qualification.
- Experience teaching parent and baby, preschool, adult, or disability swimming lessons.
- Experience working within a local authority leisure setting.
