As part of our investment in Organisational Effectiveness, we're looking for an experienced Organisational Design Specialist to help shape modern, effective and sustainable organisational structures that support excellent services for residents. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing HR & OD function and play a key role in major organisational change, transformation and workforce redesign activity across the Council.

About the role

You'll work closely with HR Business Partners, Finance, Employee Relations colleagues and senior managers to support restructures, service reviews and transformation programmes. Using organisational diagnostics, workforce data and professional expertise, you'll develop evidence-based recommendations that improve organisational effectiveness, clarify accountability and ensure services are appropriately resourced. You’ll also play a key role in helping the organisation develop a more consistent approach to organisational design, supporting managers to make robust and defensible decisions during periods of change.

About you

You’ll be a confident organisational design professional with experience operating in complex organisations and supporting workforce change activity. You’ll bring:

  • Experience leading or supporting organisational design and restructuring projects.
  • Strong understanding of organisational design principles, operating models and workforce planning.
  • Experience working with workforce data and organisational diagnostics to inform decision making.
  • The ability to influence and advise managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting consultation and organisational change processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Most importantly, you’ll enjoy helping organisations become more effective and working collaboratively to solve complex organisational challenges.

Why Tower Hamlets?

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future organisation of one of London's most diverse and ambitious boroughs. You’ll work on high-profile transformation programmes, influence organisational decision-making and help create structures and ways of working that support excellent outcomes for our residents and communities. If you’re passionate about organisational design and creating organisations that perform at their best, we’d love to hear from you.
