As an NQSW in Tower Hamlets, you will be part of one of our diverse Children’s Services teams known as Supporting Families, providing essential support to children, young people, their families, and carers. Our practice is child-centred, family-minded, and strengths-based. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with an interest in and/or knowledge of working with children with disabilities.
We offer a competitive starting salary at Grade I-K £45,852, rising to £47,925 once you successfully complete your first year of ASYE. You will also be eligible for an annual travel card covering Zones 2-3. We are committed to developing excellent social work practitioners and, if you choose to work with us, you will benefit from:
- A dedicated practice leader to support you through the learning and assessment in your first year.
- A diverse workload and high-quality reflective supervision.
- In your second year of practice, the option to continue with additional reflective supervision and the opportunity to complete a consolidation module accredited by our partner universities.
- Over the following three years, the Learning Academy will work with you to identify the best ways to support and develop your practice.
- Opportunities to undertake further study and complete post-qualifying modules through our partner universities after ASYE.
- Tower Hamlets provides wide-ranging training and development opportunities, including university-accredited courses, e-learning, online and classroom-based training, and on-the-go learning.
- We also offer flexible learning through our subscription to Research in Practice and further opportunities through our membership of the North East London Teaching Partnership.

- Have the right to work in the UK (please note we are not currently able to offer sponsorship for ASYE positions).
- Be on track to successfully complete your social work course and achieve Social Work England registration by September 2026.
- Have completed your social work qualification within the last 2 years.
- Not have started or completed your ASYE elsewhere.
