We are recruiting for a Team Manager – Safeguarding, MCA & DoLS Team to join our Adult Social Care Directorate. If you are passionate about protecting vulnerable adults, driving high-quality safeguarding practice, and leading service improvement, committed to achieving positive outcomes, and bring significant post-qualification experience in adult social care and safeguarding, we would love to hear from you.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality safeguarding, MCA, and DoLS services in line with statutory duties and best practice.
- Oversee safeguarding activity, including complex and high-risk cases, ensuring robust decision-making, quality assurance, and compliance with legal frameworks such as the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.
- Drive a strength-based, person-centred approach to practice, promoting independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for residents.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners including health, legal services, emergency services, and voluntary sector organisations to deliver coordinated support.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- A recognised Social Work and current Social Work England registration (or equivalent).
- Qualified Best Interests Assessor (BIA) status with substantial experience completing DoLS assessments.
- Significant experience in Adult safeguarding, MCA, and DoLS, including managing complex and contentious cases.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act, and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience of leading and managing teams, driving performance, and delivering continuous service improvement.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse community.
