We are recruiting for a Fresh Start Employability and Skills Co‑ordinator to join our Rapid Response team in Tower Hamlets. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in delivering targeted, street‑level interventions that tackle youth violence, anti‑social behaviour (ASB), knife crime, and gang‑related activity.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead on delivering intensive employability and mentoring support to young people aged up to 25 who are at risk of or involved in criminal activity.
  • Implement a holistic mentoring and employability programme, combining:
    • One‑to‑one mentoring and therapeutic, trauma‑informed support
    • Personal development and employability coaching
    • Structured pathways into education, training, and employment
    • A visible, trusted presence in local communities
  • Support young people at risk of ASB and disengagement, helping them build resilience, confidence, and career readiness, and successfully transition into Education, Employment, or Training (EET).
  • Work collaboratively across Young Tower Hamlets (YTH) and the Employment Team (WorkPath), dedicating focused time to employment‑led initiatives and ensuring seamless integration between youth engagement and career development services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted outreach and street‑level interventions in high‑need areas
  • Provide intensive one‑to‑one mentoring, coaching, and support
  • Deliver personal development and employability coaching programmes
  • Support young people into sustainable EET outcomes
  • Facilitate the Careers Pathways work experience programme, matching young people to suitable opportunities
  • Coordinate work experience placements, apprenticeships, and job opportunities
  • Assist with mentor recruitment, onboarding, and training
  • Deliver workshops, training sessions, and skills development programmes
  • Work closely with families, schools, employers, training providers, and community organisations
  • Use WorkPath systems and processes, including CRM/MI systems, to track and monitor outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate programme impact, ensuring responsiveness to young people’s needs

About You:

  • Proven experience working with vulnerable young people and young adults, particularly those at risk of exploitation, ASB, or offending
  • A thorough understanding of the challenges faced by NEET young people, and effective interventions to support them
  • Experience in delivering mentoring, coaching, and behaviour change approaches
  • Confidence operating in challenging and high‑risk environments
  • Knowledge of youth violence, gangs, and safeguarding concerns
  • Understanding of the government’s apprenticeship agenda and employability pathways
  • Experience in tracking and monitoring client journeys, using CRM/MI systems
  • Strong partnership and multi‑agency working skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum IAG Level 3 qualification (or equivalent in employment support), or significant relevant experience
