The predicted salary is between 42612 - 56816 £ per year.
This is a permanent part time post at 0.6 FTE, equivalent to 19.5 hours per week. The salary for this role is Main Scale or UPS plus TLR 2B and SEN 2 for candidates who hold the mandatory QToD qualification, with Inner London Allowance pay rates applying. Interviews are scheduled to take place in the week commencing 11 May 2026. The successful candidate will start on Tuesday 1 September 2026 or Monday 4 January 2027.
We have an upcoming part time vacancy from September 2026 and are seeking a skilled and experienced QToD to work in an advisory capacity within a diverse and multi cultural environment. You will bring current or recent teaching experience and extensive knowledge of special educational needs and disability to deliver a statutory service to vulnerable children and young people. As an Advisory QToD, you will manage a caselist of babies, children and young people and support mainstream schools and settings to develop inclusive practice for deaf learners. You will provide specialist advice and model effective strategies and interventions to ensure effective inclusion. The role includes delivering high quality training, including whole school INSET, and working collaboratively as part of a team alongside audiology, health partners and other SEND services. You will travel to a range of settings across the borough, with a travel allowance or essential car user allowance provided.
What We Offer: For candidates with the right qualifications, skills and experience, we offer a salary of Main Scale or UPS plus TLR 2B and SEN 2 for those holding the mandatory QToD qualification. For a UPS 3 teacher with the mandatory qualification working full time, the equivalent salary could be up to £71,020 per annum, pro rata. A travel allowance or essential car user allowance is available to support the peripatetic nature of the role.

The Deaf and Partially Hearing Team sits within the wider Tower Hamlets Learning Advisory Service, working in close partnership with other special educational needs and disability services and with a range of health professionals across the borough. We are a large and dedicated team of Deaf specialists, including qualified Teachers of the Deaf Children and Young People, a Deaf Tutor and BSL teacher, and a family support worker. We provide high quality advisory support for babies, children and young people who are deaf aged 0 to 25. Our work promotes inclusion, independence, access to learning, and improved outcomes across early years settings, schools, colleges and the home environment.
