We are progressing a new Local Plan and have a well-resourced planning service, covering strategic and infrastructure planning, urban design and digital teams.
The Role
Reporting to an Area Planning Manager, Team Leaders will be responsible for leading and coordinating day-to-day development management work across a team of professional planners. You will have opportunities to be involved with some of the largest, strategic scale development projects in London.
In addition to managing pre-application advice, section 106 negotiations, planning decisions and appeals, you will build positive working relationships with partners and the development industry. Your focus will be on supporting your team to deliver the best possible planning and regeneration outcomes for our residents and stakeholders.
About You
As an experienced town planner, you will have:
- Eligibility for RTPI membership;
- A drive for place making, regeneration and delivering sustainable development;
- A positive approach to development management, securing affordable housing and community benefits;
- A passion for finding creative solutions to complex planning issues;
- Ability to support and motivate team members and drive performance;
- A proactive approach to delivering great customer service.
The successful candidate will also exhibit the ‘TOWER’ values and behaviours of the Council including working Together, being Open, Willing, striving for Excellence and having Respect.
