Overview

Barnsley Street Neighbourhood Mental Health Centre, based in Bethnal Green, is a new service launched in July 2025 in partnership with East London Foundation Trust, Look Ahead, and other members of the Tower Hamlets Mental Health Alliance. The service offers holistic, person-centred mental health support provided by a broad multi-disciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, support workers, peer workers and other community workers in specialist areas such as employment, domestic abuse and others. The service also has guest beds for people who need extra support with their mental health and would benefit from a short stay in a supportive community-based environment or are transitioning back to the community after a hospital stay.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised interventions to individuals.
  • Help individuals access the right services and support them to set goals.
  • Offer guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations.
  • Work as part of a large, diverse team representing a variety of organisations.
  • Utilise lived experience of mental illness to meaningfully connect with clients and share an understanding of recovery.
