We are a GP Practice with a multi-skilled clinical team that works across four sites in Bury (in Bury town centre, Greenmount, Tottington and Radcliffe). We are looking for 4 new Medical Receptionists to join our experienced and friendly reception team. No two days will be the same in this rewarding, patient-facing role where the postholder will have the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of duties at our busy general practice.
You will support patients getting in touch by phone and in person at reception, using your care navigation skills to reach the best outcome to meet their needs. Variety is important in any role, and there will be opportunities to get involved in a range of administrative tasks across the working week. Full training will be provided to ensure you can thrive in the role.
Investing in our team is important to us, and in return for your commitment we can offer a competitive rate of pay, recognised continuous NHS service, NHS Pension scheme enrolment and continued professional development.
We are growing our team and have four exciting opportunities available:
- Tottington Part-Time position (19.5 hours per week)
- Greenmount 30 hours per week
- Spring Lane Two positions available (30 hours and 26 hours per week)
Shifts will fall Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:30pm. Flexibility is required, as shifts may cover any part of these hours.
Main duties of the job include providing a welcoming and efficient service to our patients both face-to-face and over the telephone. You will support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling patient enquiries, maintaining accurate records, and assisting clinical and administrative teams.
The role involves a wide variety of duties including appointment scheduling, message handling, prescription processing, maintaining clinical rooms, managing referrals, and liaising with a range of healthcare professionals and external agencies. You will also carry out general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, typing, and updating patient information systems.
Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to follow practice policies and procedures are essential. You will be required to use clinical systems such as EMIS, as well as support the team with daily checklists and ad-hoc duties to ensure the practice operates safely and effectively.
This is a busy and rewarding role working at the heart of patient care, where your contribution will help support both patients and the wider clinical team.
