Water is the defining challenge of this century. It touches literally everything — food, energy, health, ecosystems, economic stability — and the gap between the scale of the problem and the quality of the tools available to solve it is enormous. Climate is destabilising supply while demand grows, and the systems used to manage trillions of dollars of water infrastructure still rely on outdated models and incomplete information. Tova exists to close that gap.
We have built a physics‑informed AI platform — trained on how water actually moves through the physical world — that gives utilities and water‑dependent organisations decision‑grade intelligence at a fraction of the time and cost of the status quo. We have four US utility pilots underway, including one of the largest in California. We are a Techstars company, VC‑backed and closing our seed round.
Tova's brand, voice, and story are being defined right now. We need someone exceptional to help define them.
The team spans hydroclimatology, AI, water resources engineering, product, and finance — many with years of shared context built across research groups at UMass Amherst, Cornell, and Columbia. The science team has led major climate‑risk and adaptation projects for national governments, international development organisations, and utilities around the world.
This role involves building how Tova shows up in the world — from scratch. You would be working directly with the CEO and Founders' Associate to define and execute the foundational brand and communications work that a company at our stage needs to scale. This includes:
- Helping to define and build Tova's positioning, messaging architecture, and tone of voice
- Building audience frameworks across stakeholders: utility operators, investors, enterprise decision‑makers, and the engineers and scientists we want to recruit
- Owning LinkedIn execution — weekly publishing, performance tracking, and relentless iteration driven by data, A/B testing, and a commitment to what actually works rather than what feels right
- Creating core marketing collateral: one‑pagers, brand assets, blog templates, case study frameworks
- Helping to translate deep technical work into content that is clear, credible, and actually gets read
- Building brand systems and templates that scale with the company
The right person will have real scope to grow with us beyond the summer.
We are looking for someone who is internet‑native, understands how ideas spread, what makes content resonate, and how to build an audience from zero. You are AI‑native, thinking in workflows, automation, and leverage. You use various tools and are always finding new ones. You think strategically about brand — positioning, audience, message — and can articulate why one choice is better than another.
You are exceptional in your ability to communicate in writing, taking complexity and making it clear. You have strong visual instincts and care about design quality. You are self‑directed, deeply curious, and dogmatic about improving every single day. You measure, test, learn, iterate, and care about the truth of what’s working more than the comfort of what feels right.
