What You Will Do
- Define our interactive language: Collaborate with Brand and Product teams to craft a unified interaction language, establishing the micro-interactions and principles that make our products feel premium and intuitive.
- Elevate visual cohesion: Be the voice from the system team to champion a high standard of UI excellence and accessibility, ensuring our design system is the benchmark for quality across the organisation.
- Scale multi-platform excellence: Architect and deliver components across Android, iOS, and Web, translating refined UI concepts into robust, scalable, and production-ready assets.
- Drive system adoption: Work closely with engineers and designers across teams to gather real-world context for new component needs and actively drive the adoption of existing design system components.
- Champion system integrity and quality: Conduct meticulous design reviews and QA on coded components and demo app examples to ensure they are flawlessly executed, accessible, and accurately reflect component variants.
- Optimise through feedback: Transform designer and engineer insights into actionable system enhancements, ensuring the library evolves in lockstep with the needs of the business.
- Foster team culture: Cultivate a high-bar feedback culture and elevated visual craftsmanship that drives a more refined user experience and continuous improvement.
What You Will Bring
- Sophisticated visual design: A strong portfolio demonstrating a refined aesthetic and a deep understanding of typography, colour theory, and layout to create cohesive and appealing user interfaces.
- Design systems experience: Worked with/created tokenised design systems, balancing design and engineering needs, going beyond basic Figma assets - A unified system serving both disciplines.
- Advanced interaction design: Proficient in designing fluid microinteractions for enhanced usability and engaging user experience.
- Design system component creation: Collaborates with Product Designers to translate intent into robust, scalable, accessible components across iOS, Android, and Web.
- Collaboration with Engineering: Great components are designed with an understanding of how they will be built, and an awareness that design systems are a shared language between design and engineering.
- Accessibility awareness: A working understanding of minimum accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and an emerging understanding of user impact.
- Design system workflow: Knowledge of component/token governance processes; fluent in engineering and design language.
- Awareness of code frameworks: Basic understanding of React/native mobile patterns/constraints. Demonstrable understanding of semantic HTML and CSS.
