The Opportunity:
As a Travel Specialist for RailRocker, you’ll be on the frontline of an exciting new chapter in rail travel, helping curious travellers explore the world in comfort and style. RailRocker is one of TourAxis’s new brands. This role isn’t just about selling train journeys, it’s about shaping the future of travel with a brand that’s cheeky, premium, and proudly rail-obsessed.
In this position, you’ll become the go-to guide for prospective travellers, blending sharp sales skills with genuine care to ensure every RailRocker guest feels confident and excited about their journey. From answering questions to managing bookings and supporting pre-departure needs, you’ll be key in making our guests’ dreams roll smoothly from idea to itinerary.
Beyond customer service, you’ll also jump in to support operational needs, helping to build processes, fine-tune experiences, and contribute to the day-to-day magic that keeps RailRocker on track. You’ll be part of a small, nimble team with big ambitions, and your input will help shape a bold new voice in rail travel.
As Rail Rocker grows, this role is expected to evolve. The ideal candidate will have the potential to step into a Tour Delivery Specialist function, overseeing the on-the-ground execution of our journeys and ensuring every aspect reflects the premium, playful tone of the RailRocker brand. This future scope includes working with suppliers, tour leaders, and internal teams to ensure consistency in operations, guest experience, and brand delivery — or as we like to call it, RailRockying these amazing journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Excellence - Convert inquiries into confirmed bookings, maintaining a high conversion rate and consistently meeting sales targets.
- Client-Centric Service - Engage with clients via phone, email, and chat, delivering prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable support throughout the entire booking process. Gather, track and respond to guest feedback.
- End-to-End Booking Management - Coordinate all booking steps meticulously, ensuring clients receive accurate, detailed information at every stage and that handover to Operations is smooth and complete
- Problem Solving & Aftercare - Proactively address and resolve any issues before, during, or after the trip. Engage in after-care services to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and positive relationships
- Dynamic Task Management - E mbrace a dynamic, generalist role by taking on a variety of tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the company’s evolving priorities. This includes stepping into different functions, projects, or initiatives based on business needs, demonstrating flexibility, resourcefulness, and a proactive approach to contribute across multiple areas
- Supplier Coordination - Manage relationships with regional suppliers, ensuring high standards and smooth communications. Handle all supplier updates, rooming lists, allocation management, and coordinate timely payments in collaboration with the Accounts team. Ensure all service elements match the look, feel, and quality Rail Rocker promises, from first contact to final farewell.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Industry Expertise - 2+ years in luxury travel sales and customer service, with a commitment to high-touch, personalised client experiences
- Client-First Attitude - Demonstrated ability to drive client satisfaction with an ethos of positive, solution-oriented service
- Sales Success - Proven record in meeting or exceeding targets in a sales-driven, client-focused environment
- Organisational Precision - Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy, able to juggle multiple complex bookings effectively
- Communication & Professionalism - Strong interpersonal skills, fluent in English, with a well-presented, professional demeanour
- Adaptability & Drive - Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work effectively under pressure. Capable of making informed decisions both independently and collaboratively, with a strong drive to deliver superior service and results. Open to assisting with new tasks as requested by the company
- Supplier Relationship Management - Proven experience in managing supplier relationships within the travel or hospitality industry, with a focus on maintaining high standards and fostering positive, collaborative partnerships
- Growth mindset - expanding into tour delivery, product coordination, or operational excellence over time. A keen eye for brand consistency and the guest journey is a plus.
