Touchwood Play operates both in the UK and internationally, with substantial ongoing projects in France, Ireland, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia.
We are growing and are looking for a commercially driven Sales Representative to take ownership of a defined target sector, driving awareness, relationships and long-term opportunity generation within that market, and leading opportunities through to close.
About the Role
This is a sector-focused business development role with full ownership of the sales cycle. You will be responsible for building Touchwood Play’s presence within a defined industry segment, ensuring key decision-makers know who we are, what we do, and why we are different. Alongside generating and nurturing opportunities over long periods, you will take ownership of qualified leads, managing the internal process from brief through to presentation and close. This includes coordinating designers and estimators, shaping proposals, and ensuring a clear, commercially strong route to winning work.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop a defined target sector, building a clear plan to increase awareness and generate opportunities.
- Ensure consistent visibility of Touchwood Play across your sector through outreach, meetings, events and strategic engagement.
- Identify and map key organisations, stakeholders and decision-makers within your sector.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with prospects, nurturing them over months or years into qualified opportunities.
- Create and manage a structured outbound pipeline using LinkedIn, email and phone to engage target accounts.
- Qualify opportunities based on project viability, budget and alignment with our offering.
- Take full ownership of qualified opportunities, managing them through to close.
- Lead the sales process from initial brief through to final presentation, acting as the central point of coordination.
- Manage internal resource across design and estimating to ensure proposals are accurate, compelling and commercially viable.
- Shape project briefs, challenge assumptions where needed, and ensure alignment between client expectations and delivery capability.
- Support proposal creation and deliver presentations that clearly communicate value and differentiate our offering.
- Visit client sites across the UK to take detailed briefs, photographs, videos and accurate measurements.
- Maintain accurate records of all activity and opportunities within our CRM system (HubSpot).
- Represent Touchwood Play at industry events, exhibitions and trade shows.
About You
- Strong experience in B2B consultative sales, ideally within a long sales cycle environment.
- Proven ability to build and nurture relationships over extended periods and convert them into high-value opportunities.
- Experience managing complex sales processes involving multiple internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable leading projects commercially, coordinating designers and estimators to deliver winning proposals.
- Confident communicator, able to engage with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities at different stages.
- Commercially aware, with a clear understanding of margin, pricing and deal structure.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales.
- Experience selling bespoke or high-value solutions is advantageous.
- Comfortable travelling and working on-site when required.
- Interest in design, construction or play environments is beneficial.
Essential Requirements
- Proven track record in a similar B2B sales role involving long sales cycles, relationship-led selling and ownership of deals from initial engagement through to close.
- Demonstrable experience developing a market or sector, building awareness and nurturing opportunities over extended periods.
- Experience managing complex sales processes involving multiple internal stakeholders (e.g. design, estimating or technical teams).
- Comfortable leading high-value opportunities (typically six-figure projects or above) through to successful conclusion.
- Experience selling bespoke, consultative or solution-led offerings is essential.
- Experience within the playground sector is not required; however, the sales approach and complexity must be comparable.
- Applications that do not clearly demonstrate the above experience will not be considered.
