Touchstone Advisory, a UK independent valuation advisory firm, is on the lookout for a dedicated Software Developer to join our innovative team. With our commitment to pioneering a new approach to valuation services, we are developing proprietary software to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of our internal valuation processes. This role offers the unique opportunity to make a significant impact within a successful company known for shaking off the constraints of traditional advisory services and embracing a culture-centric, innovative approach.
General Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the creation, review, and decision-making processes of our product development lifecycle.
- Uphold and enhance code quality through best practices, including code reviews and adherence to design documentation.
- Collaborate with the software team to set technical direction and drive software development.
- Engage with our product teams to design and implement features that streamline the valuation process.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, demonstrating a strong commitment to deliverables and deadlines.
- Provide updates on project progress, ensuring clear communication across teams and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Above all, a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Experience in developing web applications, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficiency in React, Redux, and Typescript.
- Proficiency in Python, FastAPI and SQL Databases.
- Demonstrated design and architecture capabilities.
- A solid understanding of software engineering principles, unit testing, code reviews, design documentation, as well as debugging and troubleshooting techniques.
- A collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to teamwork and shared success.
- BSc or MSc in a STEM subject (e.g. Computer science, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Must have the ability to work UK working times.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing data-intensive applications, such as those used for complex analytical computations, and familiarity with performance optimisation.
- Familiarity with real-time collaborative document editing.
- Understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD.
