SALARY: up to £50,000 per annum + Benefits (25 Days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays, Free on-site Parking, Company Pension, Flexible Start and Finish Times)
LOCATION: Hybrid / Manchester, North West England (M17)
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 39 Hours per Week, Flexible Start and Finish Times around the core working hours of 9:30am to 4:30pm
JOB OVERVIEW: We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a C# Software Engineer / Android Application Developer to work on the organisations Android-based fuel delivery solution. This position allows you to broaden your technical skills while contributing to a platform used in busy operational environments.
As a C# Software Engineer / Android Application Developer you will be involved in enhancing and supporting a feature-rich mobile application using C#, Xamarin, MAUI, SQL integrating in an Azure environment. You will ensure effective integration with APIs, peripherals and mobile notification services.
In this role you will join a friendly and supportive team, taking ownership of tasks, solving problems collaboratively and delivering high-quality software within an Agile development environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining and enhancing the organisations Android-based mobile application
- Developing and supporting features using C#, Xamarin and MAUI
- Managing device databases including SQL data storage and synchronisation
- Integrating applications with APIs, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi peripherals
- Building robust APIs to support mobile functionality
- Ensuring reliable communications with Azure services and notification frameworks
- Collaborating with teams to investigate and resolve issues
- Providing technical input throughout the full software development lifecycle
- Working to Agile practices including testing and configuration management
- Supporting continuous improvement of tools, workflows and processes
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- At least 3 years of proven industry experience of mobile development using C#, Xamarin or MAUI
- Experience with mobile database management and synchronisation
- Background in integrating applications with APIs and third-party services
- Experience with UI development for mobile applications
- Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Experience with Git or similar source control tools
DESIRABLE
- Experience with Bluetooth integration
- Experience with mobile SQL database management
- Experience with notification services such as SignalR
- Experience communicating with stakeholders and customers
- Background in using Mobile Device Management tools
- A background in the fuel or logistics sector
