The stellar growth in cell and gene therapy has accelerated the need for a better quality, faster and more robust DNA manufacturing technology. Touchlight has created a new DNA vector for use in advanced genetic medicines that is safer and more efficacious than conventional plasmid DNA. Our unique platform also enables DNA production at unprecedented scale, speed and purity. We believe that DNA is fundamental to the future of medicine and our CDMO has a focus on the following areas:
- Nucleic acid medicines (mRNA and DNA)
- Ex-vivo and in-vivo cell and genetic medicines
- Gene therapy using viral vectors and gene editing
- Autologous and allogenic cell therapy.
Our Stock Control Technicians are responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, and handling of materials, including temperature-controlled materials. The Stock Control Technician is responsible for receiving deliveries addressed to Touchlight DNA Services, goods-in and release of materials into Production, ongoing stock control, and shipment of final product to clients. The Stock Control Technician will report to the Warehouse Manager.
In addition, the candidate will be expected to interact with suppliers and shipping companies. Execute daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of materials, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs). Maintain accurate inventory records using SAP, oversee and conduct regular cycle counts and annual stock take, and coordinate with other departments to reconcile discrepancies if required. Monitor the quality of incoming and outgoing materials, conduct quality inspections, and raise any quality events where necessary. Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, such as TCUs (Fridges/Freezers) by conducting routine servicing/defrosting and coordinating repairs as needed with calibration and maintenance engineer. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (MHRA), industry standards, and company policies related to warehouse operations, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials. Report any issues or discrepancies to Senior Technician or Warehouse Manager promptly.
Good IT skills, including updating stock control systems, Excel databases, printing labels, booking couriers, scanning of documentation, retrieving information from suppliers’ websites. Previous experience in warehouse operations or inventory management, ideally in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Experience working with SAP or similar ERP system is preferred.
