Job Summary
As a band 6 MSK physiotherapist you will have the opportunity to continue developing your clinical skills for practice. Participation in our in‑house development programme will also equip you with skills and attributes essential to the rest of your career. You will be fully integrated into a larger team with a focus on delivering high quality care at the right time and place.
As the successful candidate you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership skills and good organisational skills. You will be able to plan your own work, but also work effectively within a team, prioritise and make sound decisions, sometimes under pressure. You will carry a varied caseload of musculoskeletal complaints with a view to utilising all treatment and care options as appropriate, with the support of a named supervisor.
Main duties of the job
To carry out effective and appropriate assessments using knowledge and skills combined with clinical reasoning and to contribute towards accurate diagnosis.
- Work with patients to identify and agree treatment goals, delivering patient‑centred care based on assessment outcomes.
- Use communication, reasoning and negotiation skills to establish a working partnership with patients, families and carers, identifying barriers to communication.
- Plan and lead patient group sessions as clinically relevant.
- Address all risk areas associated with individual patient’s ability to function.
- Contribute to effective discharge planning.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions/treatments using outcome measures.
- Represent the Physiotherapy Service within the multidisciplinary team and participate in relevant team/network meetings, clinics and contribute to the discussion and planning of patient care.
- Work with assistants and technical instructors regarding clinical caseloads and provide necessary support on clinical issues.

Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in physiotherapy or other relevant qualification.
- Current HPC registration.

Experience
- Relevant pre‑registration physiotherapy experience, including all core rotations (including MSK).
