Job Summary
Join to apply for the Band 4 Nursing Associate role at TouchConsult. An opportunity has arisen for a suitably NMC Registered Nurse associate to work in the community. The post holder will support the Community nursing team in delivering an efficient, high‑quality nursing service using evidence‑based practice to a wide range of patients within the locality. This role is based in the Ealing Borough of London. Essential requirements include an NMC registration, excellent team‑working and communication skills, a desire to share knowledge and work within an inter‑professional framework.
Main duties
The position is a community post requiring travel throughout the locality, carrying equipment, and supporting students and colleagues in their training and professional development. The post holder will attend an induction and training period before commencing. The role requires weekend, evening and bank holiday work. Travel is essential – the applicant must hold a full driver’s licence and have access to a car. Working hours are 8 am – 8 pm, seven days a week, with shift patterns of 8 am – 4 pm, 9 am – 5 pm, 10 am – 6 pm, 12 pm – 8 pm. NOTE: This job does not offer sponsorship.
Person Specification
Essential
- GCSE or equivalent to Level 2 Functional Skills Maths & English
- NMC registered Nursing Associate
- Level 5 Foundation Degree in Health & Care
- Experience delegating duties to others
- Insight into evaluating own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate
- Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary and cross‑agency environment
- Experience providing and receiving complex sensitive information
- Experience managing/prioritising own caseload, using initiative
- Competent in a range of clinical skills relevant to the scope of practice required
- Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non‑verbal) with patients, relatives, carers and multidisciplinary team members
- Demonstrated numeracy (including drug administration calculations) and literacy skills
- Ability to read/write and understand instructions in English
- Ability to organise and prioritise delegated workload
- Ability to balance clinical caseload and explain requirements
- Ability to work under pressure across competing priorities and unpredictable workload
- Ability to participate in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities
- Ability to develop effective relationships with patients, families, carers and colleagues
- Ability to support, supervise and assess nursing associate trainees, other learners and healthcare support workers as required in the clinical setting
Desirable
- Experience of Clinical Audit
- Competency in a range of clinical skills and expanded practices relevant to the scope of practice required
- Understanding of NMC Revalidation elements
