Totum is recruiting for a Revenue Manager to join a leading law firm in Birmingham. This is a senior role within the finance function, with ownership of the firm’s WIP and billing performance, a strong focus on improving working capital, and a key contribution to overall financial performance.
You will lead firmwide billing activity and manage a small billing team, working closely with partners, fee earners, and finance colleagues to agree billing strategies, drive accountability, and resolve complex billing matters. The role will suit someone confident influencing senior stakeholders and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, partner-led environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Own firmwide WIP and billing performance, with a strong focus on reducing aged WIP, improving lock-up, and supporting working capital.
- Partner closely with partners and department heads to agree billing strategies, forecasts, and realistic delivery timelines.
- Lead regular WIP reviews, challenging delays, resolving blockers, and ensuring historic WIP is progressed or appropriately managed.
- Provide senior oversight of billing activity across the firm, setting standards and acting as the escalation point for complex matters.
- Own billing performance against monthly and year-end targets, with clear oversight of risks and variances.
