Totum is recruiting for a Billing Manager to join a leading law firm in Manchester. This is a key role within the finance function, responsible for leading billing activity, improving working capital, and supporting overall financial performance. You will manage a small team and work closely with partners, fee earners, and finance colleagues across the business. The ideal Billing Manager will be responsible for:
- Lead and coordinate billing activity across the firm
- Own billing performance against monthly and year-end targets
- Improve WIP management, including reducing aged WIP and lock-up
- Work with stakeholders to resolve billing issues and unblock delays
- Manage and develop a small billing team
- Support improvements in billing processes and financial controls
- Contribute to system upgrades and automation projects
- Deliver training to improve understanding of billing processes across the business
