An international Law firm is seeking to hire a Global Mobility Tax Assistant Manager to work in their Sheffield/Leeds/Edinburgh/Glasgow/Aberdeen offices to manage international assignments and cross-border working arrangements. Hybrid working and competitive salary is available with this opportunity.
Global Mobility Tax Duties:
- Provide guidance on the tax implications of international employee mobility, including overseas assignments, cross-border working arrangements, remote working requests and international business travel.
- Assist with the assessment of UK and overseas employment tax obligations for employees working across multiple jurisdictions, including payroll and social security considerations.
- Review and evaluate tax treaty relief opportunities, short-term business visitor arrangements and international social security requirements.
- Contribute to the identification and mitigation of tax and permanent establishment risks associated with international working practices.
- Support the review of mobility requests, ensuring alignment with internal policies and documenting key tax considerations and recommendations.
- Help oversee mobility-related compliance activities, including shadow payroll requirements and international tax reporting obligations.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting for internationally mobile employees, ensuring data integrity and appropriate governance.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation, controls and audit records relating to global mobility activities.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for HR, finance, business leaders and employees, providing practical and commercially focused mobility tax guidance.
- Contribute to the enhancement of global mobility processes, policies, training materials and operational frameworks to support a growing international workforce.
Global Mobility Tax Experience:
- APPLICANTS MUST BE CURRENTLY WORKING IN A LAW OR ACCOUNTANCY PRACTICE/CONSULTANCY
- Strong Global Mobility/employment tax knowledge
- Evidence of inbound and outbound assignments and cross-border working requests experience
- Experience working in a Law firm is highly desirable
