Bristol based – 3 days per week in the office We are delighted to be recruiting for a new Head of IT Engineering & Operations to join our client based in Bristol. The Head of IT Engineering & Operations will be responsible for three core teams: End-User Computing (EUC) (M365/Intune), Software Engineering (Innovation including Low-code/No-code solutions, DevOps), and Platform Operations (Networks, backups, Azure environment). Key Responsibilities: IT Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and performance. Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to maintain system availability and efficiency. System Deployment and Maintenance: Plan, deploy, and maintain IT systems and platforms in alignment with business requirements. Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and recoverable. Business Alignment: Collaborate with business leaders to ensure systems meet their needs, identify opportunities for improved technology platforms, and ensure IT operations support business objectives. Innovation and Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on emerging technologies, assess their potential impact on the organisation, and make recommendations for adoption or integration to drive innovation and competitive advantage. IT Governance: Establish and enforce IT governance processes, policies, and standards to ensure effective decision-making, risk management, and compliance with regulations and industry best practices. Vendor Management: Evaluate and select technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including senior executives, department heads, and external partners, to understand their requirements, gain buy-in, and ensure effective communication and collaboration. Budgeting and Resource Management: Develop and manage the IT engineering and operations budget, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources and cost-effective technology investments. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish metrics and performance indicators to monitor the effectiveness of IT operations. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on progress, risks, and opportunities. We are looking for: Experience in IT operations management, system deployment, and infrastructure maintenance in an enterprise-scale environment. Proven experience and ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders across the business. Strong technical background within a Microsoft environment. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse IT teams.
