A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Learning & Development professional to join a leading international law firm. The Legal Learning Manager is part of the global Leadership, Learning & Development function, responsible for designing, developing and managing learning programmes that strengthen the technical legal knowledge and skills of lawyers across the EMEA region. The role involves creating and delivering in-person, virtual and digital learning solutions, collaborating with subject matter experts, and ensuring alignment with broader career development frameworks.
This position works closely with partners, knowledge lawyers, regional knowledge leads, and other stakeholders to implement effective learning initiatives. The role also oversees the maintenance and refresh of digital learning content in partnership with the Digital Learning & Development team.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver high-quality legal learning programmes, workshops and e-learning in partnership with internal experts and external providers.
- Ensure practice-specific learning content supports wider lawyer career development initiatives.
- Build strong relationships across relevant practice groups and locations to ensure regional perspectives are captured in learning design.
- Conduct regular audits of digital learning resources and update materials in collaboration with the Digital Learning & Development team.
- Facilitate workshops for junior lawyers within the UK.
- Monitor and evaluate programme effectiveness through feedback and impact assessment tools.
- Support and develop Legal Learning Coordinators, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Manage training budgets and contribute to the annual planning cycle.
- Stay informed of developments in legal education, digital learning, AI, and industry trends.
- Contribute to broader Learning & Development projects as required.
- Participate in organisational responsibility initiatives as part of the firm’s commitment to responsible business practices.
- Significant experience designing and delivering online and/or in-person training within a law firm or a comparable professional services environment.
- A qualification in learning and development and/or instructional design is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong facilitation and presentation abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational capability.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to effectively prioritise tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
- A collaborative and flexible team member who supports others willingly.
