Totum Partners is partnering with a leading law firm to recruit a Payroll Assistant on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Based in Birmingham and working four days per week, this role will support the accurate and timely delivery of the monthly payroll, including payroll changes, benefits and pension updates, statutory payments and payroll reporting.
Experience using ADP/NGUX is essential.
The ideal Payroll Assistant will be responsible for
- Processing starters and leavers on ADP/NGUX.
- Resolving employee payroll queries, including tax issues and system login problems.
- Managing monthly payroll changes and ad hoc reports.
- Managing overtime forms and reconciling against payroll outputs.
- Calculating and processing sickness payments.
- Administering statutory parental leave payments.
- Processing pension and benefits variations.
- Raising and processing ad hoc employee payments.
- Checking and issuing HMRC/PAYE payments.
- Delivering end-of-month reporting.
- Supporting the payroll team with ad hoc tasks.
The ideal Payroll Assistant will be responsible for
- Previous payroll administration experience, preferably within professional services.
- Proven experience using ADP/NGUX payroll software.
- Understanding of manual Tax and NI calculations.
- Up-to-date knowledge of HMRC statutory regulations.
- High levels of discretion and integrity.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
