My client, a globally renowned law firm, is seeking a proactive and strategic Business Development Manager to support the growth of their Private Equity Clean Energy practice. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with top-tier lawyers and senior stakeholders to drive business development initiatives, enhance market visibility, and win high-value mandates across the UK and internationally.
You’ll be at the heart of a fast-growing, strategically important practice, helping to shape and deliver the business development and marketing strategy for the Clean Energy group. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a high-performing team on cutting-edge transactions in a sector that’s transforming the global economy.
The main remit of this BD Manager role includes:
- Delivering the annual BD plan with partners and track progress against KPIs.
- Monitoring market trends and develop campaigns to win new mandates.
- Creating high-quality client materials including pitches and brochures.
- Managing events, sponsorships, and directory submissions.
- Supporting PR efforts to raise the group’s profile.
- Producing BD reports and insights for internal and client use.
- Aligning local initiatives with the global clean energy strategy.
- Tracking competitors and identify new opportunities.
- Assisting with client reviews and feedback processes.
- Promoting best practice use of BD tools and systems.
- Maintaining marketing assets like deal lists and bios.
- Contributing to thought leadership and content projects.
- Sharing insights with the wider Private Equity BD team.
The successful candidate for this exciting BD Manager role will possess
- Strong BD and/or marketing experience gained in a law firm environment
- Proven ability to manage pitches, RFPs, and client development programmes.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach.
- Commercial awareness of legal and financial market trends.
- Confidence using tools like Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and online research platforms.
